Plug-ins - get the
Flash Player plug-in
Usually when browser plug-ins are missing,
a small grey icon of some description will show up on
your web page displaying a "?", indicating missing
software utilities. In some cases an alert message will
come up asking you to download new plug-in software. In
rare cases this alert may not appear - in which case if
you do see a missing plug-in icon but no message saying
"download plug-in here", then simply click the
link below to download the latest Flash Player Plugin
Flash animations are occasionally used
within the MJ website and this plug-in is essential to
view them properly. Most computers nowadays already have
Flash Player installed, but it is a good idea to keep
up to date anyway :

Acrobat Reader software
application
In the past, there were very often 'incompatible
file' clashes between Mac and PC software, or even between
varying PC applications. What was needed was a cross-platform
program to sort out this issue and allow the viewing of
files on almost any computer quicly, easily and to also
allow print outs without problem
The answer is Adobe's
Acrobat Reader
Acrobat Reader reads PDF files and is
free to download and install forever. No hidden catches
or time-limited offers. There are a number of PDF files
contained within the Maidment Judd website that require
this program to be downloaded for viewing. It is a highly
useful software application that can be downloaded by

Navigation
We have tried to make it as easy as
possible to move around our website. Our advice would
be to move your mouse cursor over everything and see what
happens - usually something will appear or change colour,
telling you this is a clickable option to go to another
page or link
Popup windows
Occasionally this website uses popup
windows to display links which are external pages or instant
email. Some internet browsers block this facility, making
it appear as though nothing has happened. If you click
on a link and nothing happens, make sure your browser
allows popup windows. You can do this by looking at your
Tools or Preference settings of the browser. If however
you believe that you have come across a truly dead link,
then read the section below :

This website has been tested to be as
compatible and accessible as possible on both Mac &
PC, using the top 5 most used internet browsers. The only
real problem we have encountered is viewing our pages
on Opera. Therefore we would not recommend Opera as a
browser for viewing the Maidment Judd website. Other than
that, in theory all of our pages should work fairly flawlessly.
However, there may well be a few hidden bugs or glitches
that we are not aware of - in which case we'd love to
know what they are and how they have occured
